Head out to the 17th Annual Mississauga Waterfront Festival!

Mississauga-Waterfront-Festival-2013

The Mississauga Waterfront Festival has been voted as one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals nine years in a row. MWF has set new standards for excellence, earning accolades from industry peers, business partners, media and attendees.

The festival is known for presenting the best in Canadian and International talent.  The children’s stage is home to popular TV stars like The Backyardigans, Max & Ruby and Dora the Explorer while the Family Fun Village offers everything from stilt walkers and fire-eaters to exciting water shows, family carnival, interactive sports activities, delicious food and unique crafters and vendors. The variety of exciting events and attractions draw visitors to the Mississauga Waterfront Festival from near and far.

According to MWF Chairperson Pat Anderson, included this year are “Checkmate by the River – a spectacular interactive live life-sized board games, an interactive culinary demos by Chef Rob Rainford, Chef Amy Smith and Chef Davey; sand sculptors, a variety of performances by local youth talent and Father’s Day tributes that would make any dad’s heart melt,’’ according to her.

The festival will also feature The Monster Rock Orchestra (MRO), a signature performance of the MWF.“Monster Rock Orchestra, created by Mississauga’s own talent, Vikas Kohli, has been entertaining festival visitors of all ages,’’ according to Anderson. “We can proudly say that at Mississauga Waterfront Festival, we feature our local talent of national as well as global fame, making it an unforgettable event for the audience.’’

The festival is a free, fun-filled day for families. It would also be a great Father’s Day outing as the festival is being held on June 14-16. The whole family can have fun at the Bubble Tower, play on life-sized board games, view the small animal display, and view the vintage cars at the Yellow Ribbon Antique and Classic Car Show.

The MWF not only celebrates local talent and provides entertainment but it also raises funds for charities and sponsors children from low income families.
